A Better Trend For Late Week

A overall drier trend, more favorable for harvest, is showing up for Thursday. Light rain will continue in the central and eastern Midwest Thursday, focusing on Illinois. The persistent showers will again impede harvest in this portion of the Corn Belt. Elsewhere, dry conditions will be the rule and allow for additional harvest progress. Temperatures will be cool, which will keep the drying process slow.

Highs: 40s/50s Canadian Prairie, Plains, Midwest; 60s Texas Panhandle, far southern Plains, Delta, Deep South; 70s remainder of Texas.

Also, during next week the upper air forecast maps are showing a chance at more west-to-east zonal type flow. If that pans out, we could see even more of a drier trend heading into the end of November.
