The spot biodiesel market's lackluster trading continued this week with most deals done for the winter months, sources said.

"I'm doing Q4 now," one trader commented. "People are getting ready for heating season oil."

"Q4 has been trading as well as Q1," another trader this morning, with soy methyl ester biodiesel prices 5cts discounted to spot for Q4 and 10cts discount for Q1, he said.

A biodiesel broker added that the spot market remains "extremely thin."

This morning, spot biodiesel SME B100 at the Chicago, New York and Houston supply hubs were talked at parity, heard at a bid/ask spread of $3.50 to $3.60 gallon, unchanged from Thursday and up 2.0cts on the week.
