Arizona Spot Ethanol Prices Quoted Higher on Tight Supply
Spot ethanol prices in Arizona rose sharply today despite falling prices in the East Coast and the Midwest. West Coast prices have been supported by tight supply linked to a lack of available railcars.
A trade source quoted prompt delivered ethanol in Phoenix, Ariz., at $2.90 gallon today, up from $2.86 gallon traded yesterday. The source said she received "a bunch of cars into Phoenix on Saturday," though other traders said they were waiting for railcars to free up before scheduling deliveries. "Railroad is a pain but our terminal is in good shape inventory-wise," said the source.
