Chemical Maker Branches Into Ethanol

A Spanish chemical maker branching into renewable energy announced plans for a 100 million euro ($147 million) ethanol plant in the northern Spanish city of Torrelavega. It will be 21 to 23 months before the facility is ready to deliver the fuel. The firm, Sniace, also plans to build an ethanol plant in Poland. No word on what feedstocks the company will use in the plants.
