Spot ethanol prices drifted lower during a choppy trade session Monday as part of a downward move by the corn and petroleum markets at the start of the new trade week. April transfer ethanol at Argo near Chicago was last talked at a $1.56 to $1.58 gallon bid/ask, down 2.5 cents on the day. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment was down 1.0 cent at $1.59 to $1.61 gallon bid/ask spread. New York Harbor May delivered ethanol barges were talked at $1.67 gallon, down 2.0 cents. This week transfer ethanol in northern California was talked at $1.78 gallon, down 3.0 cents on the day.
