Spot ethanol prices were little changed early Tuesday afternoon as traders await weekly ethanol inventory data scheduled for release Wednesday.

Traders expect the Energy Information Administration would show demand growth for gasoline and ethanol, but they also are reticent at raising bids in part because some buyers are expecting imports from Brazil.

Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo supply terminal was talked flat at $1.60 per gallon while New York Harbor April ethanol barges were discussed at a $1.68 to $1.71 per gallon bid/ask for a 1.5-cents loss. This week shipment of northern California ethanol was talked at a $1.74 to $1.77 per gallon bid/ask, up 0.5 cents on the session.
