Spot Ethanol Prices Flat to Lower on Weekly Supply Build
Spot ethanol prices were flat to slightly lower Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration released a weekly report that showed total ethanol stocks rose 2.4% to a three-week high of 21.3 million bbl during the week-ended March 20, while domestic output grew 6,000 bpd to 953,000 bpd and implied demand was up a modest 0.3% to 866,000 bpd for the week.
Prompt Argo ethanol was talked at $1.47 and $1.48 per gallon, down 1.25 cents. New York Harbor March ethanol barges were talked flat at $1.57 per gallon with April barges seen at $1.58 per gallon, down a penny. Arizona spot ethanol traded early at $1.67 per gallon and then at $1.65 per gallon after the EIA report was released, down 4.0 cents.
