Oil prices settled lower on Tuesday, reversing gains from the previous trading session, after U.S. President Donald Trump postponed by another three months the imposition of trade-prohibitive tariffs on imported Chinese goods.

DTN's View From the Cab farmers are prepping for harvest. Combines will roll in Alabama soon, but Nebraska is a ways away from bringing in a crop.

What DTN Is Watching

At 7:30 am, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Core CPI will be out giving us a hint at inflation and the direction of interest rates. At 11 am CDT, the August USDA and WASDE report will be out with the primary focus on corn and soybean yields and production. At noon, the August FSA report will be released. At 1 pm, the Monthly U.S. Federal Budget will be out. We will also watch for any new flash sales at 8 am.

Weather

A slow-moving cold front continues to edge south and east from the Southern Plains to the Great Lakes on Tuesday, producing scattered showers and thunderstorms as it does. Areas in the Southeast will also see showers.
