Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland released the federal budget in Ottawa which proposed $52.9 billion of new spending over five years, including 8.5 billion in new spending for housing. To fund much of this spending, the government is increasing capital gains taxes by boosting the inclusion rate to 66% of the gain over $250,000.
