Criminal Investigation Remains Active in West, Texas

In July last year, three months after an explosion at the local fertilizer plant in West, Texas, signs of reconstruction could be seen in the community, as shown in this DTN file photo. The rebuilding pace has continued: On the city's north side, 68 new homes have been built, 138 have finished some level of rebuild and 24 homes in the area again are occupied. West, Texas, has completed much of its rebuilding efforts since 2013 as many new homes dot the community. Residents continue to filter back into town, even as answers are still being sought to why the explosion happened and caused such loss in the first place.
