New Brazilian Beef Import Rule Sparks Concern

John Clifford, chief veterinary officer for USDA, made the case for a proposed rule allowing fresh Brazilian beef imports to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's annual convention in Nashville.
To the chagrin of some meat industry groups, USDA is considering new regulations to permit fresh beef imports from some regions in South America.
