Spot Ethanol Prices Flat to Up as Supply Data Eyed

Spot ethanol prices were flat to slightly higher in early trade Tuesday ahead of weekly inventory data by the Energy Information Administration that's expected to show a supply drawdown while demand is expected to have risen in the week-ended April 17.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub near Chicago was talked at a $1.60 to $1.62 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 0.5 cents. An April-delivered cargo in Phoenix, Ariz., traded at $1.75 per gallon, unchanged for the day. New York Harbor ethanol barges were pegged flat at $1.69 per gallon.
