Spot Ethanol Prices Little Changed ahead of Conference

Spot ethanol prices were flat to a tad higher in thin trade Tuesday as traders eyed weakening gasoline prices and slightly higher corn futures prices.

Prompt ethanol at Argo was seen flat at $1.40 per gallon while New York Harbor barged ethanol was up 0.5 cents at $1.52 per gallon. Trade sources said there has been no impact on ethanol shipments from Monday’s crude oil train derailment in West Virginia.

Trade volume was extremely thin because most traders are traveling to Dallas, Texas, for the annual Renewable Fuel Association conference.
