The U.S. cash biodiesel market traded thinly this week as the industry awaits the final Renewable Volume Obligation expected to be published after the Nov. 4 elections.

"It's pretty much a crawl until after the elections I'm afraid," said a biodiesel trader.

"Most people believe that the RVO will be released shortly after elections, which will at least provide a new direction for the market, but seasonally we are entering into a slow period for the industry," said Pete Moss, president and biodiesel analyst for Frazier Barnes and Associates, Memphis, Tenn.

Today's spot biodiesel prices are down 3.0 cents on the day, talked at $3.13 per gallon in Chicago and at $3.105 for Houston and the New York Harbor. Prices are flat on the week.
