U.S. Spot Ethanol Values Mixed in Thin Early Trade Friday
Spot ethanol prices were mixed in early trade Friday with New York Harbor trading a tad lower while Chicago, Phoenix and Houston traded slightly higher.
Ethanol trade is sandwiched between lower gasoline and higher corn futures prices and has been pressured by weak supply and demand fundamentals. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for next week shipment to coastal markets traded at $1.45 per gallon, down 3.0 cents. New York Harbor ethanol barges FOB for January traded at $1.60 per gallon for a 0.5-cent loss while Arizona ethanol traded at $1.69 per gallon, up a penny.
