Argo Spot Ethanol Higher, NYH Talked Steady after Supply Data
Spot ethanol prices nudged up in Chicago while unchanged in New York and elsewhere after the Energy Information Administration released a mixed report showing ethanol stocks falling for the second straight week, down nearly 400,000 bbl to a four-week low of 21.2 million, while production rose 13,000 bpd or 1.4% to 944,000 bpd in the week-ended March 6.
Blender inputs, a proxy for demand, eased 6,000 bpd to 840,000 bpd. Prompt Argo ethanol was talked at $1.43 per gallon, up 1.0 cent, while New York Harbor March delivered ethanol barges were talked flat at a $1.54 per gallon.
