Spot Ethanol Prices Ease on Lower Corn Futures

Spot ethanol prices were discussed lower early Friday as a supply overhang and losses for Chicago Board of Trade corn futures spurred selling.

Trade sources said prompt ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago was discussed at a $1.35 to $1.38 per gallon bid/ask, down 1.5 cents on the day. Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 for next week shipment was pegged at $1.43 per gallon. In the New York Harbor, February barged ethanol was valued at $1.48 per gallon for a loss of 0.5 cents.
