Soil Moisture Will Dictate This Year's Alfalfa Crop

Some regions are in fairly good shape with soil moisture for their alfalfa crops, but other areas remain in a deficit and desperately need rainfall. (DTN photo by Dan Davidson)
Southern states with continuing extreme droughts may have fewer alfalfa acres this year because of reduced pumping limits. Producers may look at other options on how to make their reduced water capacity work best for them.
