Farmer Jerod McDaniel, who farms along the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles, saw his corn fail under pivot in 2011 during the drought. McDaniel said he has learned since 2010 how to manage drought conditions. He didn't harvest his dryland wheat this year, but recent rains have helped him save money on his irrigated corn fields.
