OMAHA (DTN) -- Limited impact from winter precipitation in the Midwest, and a drier week ahead in central Brazil, are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

VARIABLE MIDWEST PRECIPITATION

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for light to moderate snow in addition to locally heavy amounts received Monday to cause transportation disruption in the northwestern Midwest. Recent heavy rains from the southeast Midwest to the Delta will maintain adequate to surplus moisture winter wheat areas.

DRY AND MILD IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, a drier period with warmer weather will favor livestock in the feedlots of the southwest. Warm weather and recent moisture favors the winter wheat crop.

VARIABLE RAINS IN BRAZIL

Across Brazil, episodes of rain and showers will favor development of corn and soybeans in southern areas. Some delay to planting is possible. Episodes of scattered to widely scattered showers and thundershowers help improve conditions for soybeans in Mato Grosso as well during this period. However, in this area it may be hot at times which could stress early developing soybeans.

DRY AND WARMER IN ARGENTINA

A drier, warmer to hotter trend is expected in Argentina during the next seven days. Soil moisture and temperatures will favor developing crops during this period while soils slowly dry out. Mostly favorable weather is in effect for planting during this period.
