OMAHA (DTN) -- Generally dry conditions for Midwest harvest and very little rain indicated for Russia and Australia wheat areas are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Wednesday.

CONTINUED MILD TREND IN MIDWEST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for continued dry and mild conditions for corn and soybean harvest across the Midwest. Light showers during the late-week time frame will cause only minor delays in progress.

LIGHT SHOWERS FOR SOUTHERN PLAINS

Light rain will form in the Southern Plains during the next few days. This moisture will offer some benefit for winter wheat in its early stages. Weekend temperatures will be very warm, however, so moisture from the rain will be of short duration.

DRY NORTHERN PATTERN

Northern Plains and Canadian Prairies crop areas again have dry and mild conditions through the rest of this week. This combination will favor continued harvest progress.

BENEFICIAL DELTA HARVEST TREND

The Delta will again see dry pattern with favorable corn and soybean harvest conditions the balance of this week.

CENTRAL BRAZIL RAIN CHANCE

In central Brazil, Mato Grosso has some rain ahead during the next five days. This moisture will offer improvement in soybeans planting conditions. However, a dry and hot pattern returns to the region in the 10-day time frame.

CONTINUED RUSSIA AND UKRAINE DRYNESS

Dry conditions remain well-entrenched for wheat areas of Russia and Ukraine. The dry trend is unfavorable for early growth of winter wheat.

DRY AND HOT IN AUSTRALIA

South-central and eastern Australia wheat areas were hot Tuesday. High temperatures reached into the upper 90s Fahrenheit (37 Celsius). West Australia was cooler. Dry conditions were noted in all areas. The dryness continues in the next seven days, with best rain chances focused on the southeast coast.

SOUTH AFRICA STAYS DRY

In typical El Nino fashion, South Africa's major crop areas continue with a very warm to hot and dry pattern for at least the next seven days.
