OMAHA (DTN) -- More beneficial conditions for harvest in the Midwest, and continued dryness in Russia and Australia wheat areas, are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

FAVORABLE MIDWEST HARVEST PATTERN

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for favorable conditions for corn and soybean harvest across the Midwest the remainder of this week.

DRY AND WARM IN SOUTHERN PLAINS

The Southern Plains has very little rain expected during the next five days. The weather trend will be very warm, to much above normal. More rain would benefit planting and developing winter wheat in most areas.

MILD NORTHERN TREND

Northern Plains and Canadian Prairies crop areas again have dry and mild conditions through the rest of this week. This combination will favor continued harvest progress.

FAVORABLE DELTA HARVEST TREND

The Delta has a dry pattern with favorable corn and soybean harvest conditions the balance of this week.

EAST COAST HURRICANE LOSSES

Along the U.S. East Coast, heavy to torrential rains and severe flooding from Hurricane Joaquin is affecting harvest and may lead to losses in the Carolinas and Virginia.

SCATTERED LIGHT CENTRAL BRAZIL RAIN

In central Brazil, only modest showers are again indicated for Mato Grosso this week. Moisture for soybean planting will be scattered.

LINGERING RUSSIA AND UKRAINE DRYNESS

Dry conditions continue to dominate wheat areas of Russia and Ukraine. The dry trend is unfavorable for early growth of winter wheat.

LIMITED AUSTRALIA RAINFALL

Scattered showers are indicated for southeast Australia in the next seven days. This rain is needed to support wheat. Rain is needed to support the crop in this area after recent heat and dryness. Mostly dry conditions are also indicated for West Australia during the next seven days.
