OMAHA (DTN) -- Beneficial late-season temperatures in the Midwest, and favorable late-season international trends, are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Tuesday.

BENEFICIAL TREND IN MIDWEST

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for continued mild weather across the Midwest. Filling row crops will benefit with these conditions. Rainfall will focus on western areas during the next five days.

DRY PATTERN FOR SOUTHERN PLAINS

In the Southern Plains, very warm to hot conditions will remain in place this week. This pattern favors maturing crops, but will cause some stress to filling crops and will result in some loss of soil moisture.

FAVORABLE DELTA PATTERN

Across the Delta, a drier trend this week will allow for continued corn harvest progress, while maintaining favorable conditions for cotton along with pod-filling soybeans.

MILD AND DRY NORTHERN PLAINS FORECAST

Northern Plains areas will see drier and warmer conditions through the balance of this week, which will benefit spring wheat harvest along with late-season row crop development. Spring wheat harvest, at 75% complete, is well ahead of average.

DRIER WEEK FOR PRAIRIES

In the Canadian Prairies, a drier trend is expected through the rest of this week, along with above-normal temperatures. This will improve spring wheat harvest prospects along with early swathing of canola.

BENEFICIAL EUROPE SHOWERS

Across Europe, recent rain is easing stress to late-filling crops after prior heat and dryness. Rain helps replenish soil moisture for early needs of winter wheat and rapeseed as well. Corn production is already reduced compared to a year ago due to dry and hot conditions during midsummer.

DRY TREND FOR UKRAINE AND RUSSIA

Ukraine through western and southern Russia will have drier and sometimes warm to very warm weather the rest of this week. This will favor maturing corn and sunflower and any harvesting as well as field work in preparation for planting winter grains. Dryness may be unfavorable for late-filling summer crops and will leave some areas short on moisture for germination and early development of winter grains, once they are planted.

DRIER SHORT-TERM CHINA TREND

Northern China crop areas have mostly dry conditions forecast through midweek. Temperatures will be variable. After recent rainfall, this pattern is benign for crops.

DRY WEEK FOR INDIA

Satellite imagery over the India subcontinent indicates rain in eastern areas, and a dry pattern elsewhere. Major oilseed areas of west-central India look to continue drier and hotter during this week. Soybeans will benefit from this drier trend after heavy monsoon rains for most of the season. Groundnuts and cotton have mostly favorable soil moisture at the current time, but will likely need more rain before too long. The monsoon overall is weakening.

RAINS FOR AUSTRALIA WHEAT

Australia's wheat areas have seen some favorable rainfall during the past week. This occurrence will benefit soil moisture levels for the crop.
