American Coalition for Ethanol

The American Coalition for Ethanol, founded in 1988, is a national, non-profit organization of more than 1,200 members in 45 states, including ethanol producers, farmers, investors, commodity organizations, businesses supplying goods and services to the industry, rural electric cooperatives and others supportive of the increased production and use of ethanol across America.

American Corn Growers Association

The American Corn Growers Association, which has 14,000 grower members in 35 states, was founded in 1987 in reaction to the 1985 farm bill. ACGA has provided leadership on a range of issues including price supports, trade, genetically modified organisms and the role of agribusiness in producer groups.

Ethanol Promotion and Information Council

The Ethanol Promotion and Information Council is an alliance of ethanol producers and industry leaders who have come together to create a "consistent, positive message and identity for ethanol," according to the group's web site. The EPIC's goal is to provide education on the performance and environmental benefits of using an ethanol-enriched fuel in automobiles.

Growth Energy

Growth Energy is an ethanol industry advocacy group with more than 13,500 members, including 51 ethanol plants and another 31 members that are directly involved in ethanol production. The group was founded on Nov. 11, 2008. On its website Growth Energy describes itself as "a new, proactive group committed to the promise of agriculture and growing America's economy through cleaner, greener energy." In just one year Growth Energy filed a waiver request with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to allow for the use of E15 in standard vehicles.

National Biodiesel Board

The National Biodiesel Board is the national trade association representing the biodiesel industry as the coordinating body for research and development. It was founded in 1992 by state soybean commodity groups that were funding biodiesel research and development programs.

National Corn Growers Association

The National Corn Growers Association, founded in 1957, represents more than 32,300 corn growers in 48 states and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute to corn checkoff programs in 20 states. NCGA is a federation of state organizations, corn boards, councils and commissions developing and implementing programs and policies on a state and national level to help protect and advance the corn producer’s interests.

National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition

In June 2000 the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition was incorporated with several charter members including farmers and automakers. The NEVC was formed to promote the use of 85 percent ethanol as a renewable fuel while enhancing agricultural profitability, advancing environmental stewardship and promoting national energy independence.
