The chart shows ending stocks-to-use ratios for U.S. corn from 1979-80 to the current 2014-15 season. The current surplus pales by comparison to the record high of 66% in 1986-87, but the same bearish dynamic is at work and, once again, it will take more than low prices to turn the bearish trend.
