Keeping N in the Mix

For years, N-Serve was used with anhydrous ammonia when applied in the fall before soil temperatures dropped below 50 degrees Fahrenheit to keep it in the ammonium form. (DTN photo by Pamela Smith)
Many nitrification inhibitors are available to keep nitrogen available to the plant and keep it out of groundwater. Trying them on your farm will help show whether they are worth the investment.
