December corn has a long history of trading mainly between its previous year's cost of production, not including land, and a 50% premium to cost, unless weather problems emerge. The 10-year seasonal high falls on June 18 and the seasonal low is on Oct. 6. (DTN chart)
The historical relationship between corn prices and their cost of production helps us map expectations for the year ahead.
