As of Monday, Aug. 25, the combined value of spot soybean meal and oil was $2.15 a bushel above the price of spot soybeans, a historically high premium that encourages more crushing activity and indicates strong demand for soybean meal. The chart above shows the monthly values of the soybean crush premium since 2002. (DTN chart)
Market incentives for crushing soybeans are among their highest levels ever.
