Rainfall during November has taken a dramatic turn in Brazil. Areas in the north that needed rain have for the most part received it, and areas in the south that needed drier weather have in general had that kind of a pattern set in as well. Here's how the Brazil November rain situation looks through Friday the 16th as tabulated by my colleague Joel Burgio.

GOIAS 6.54" average 49% above normal Goias really needed more rain.

MATO GROSSO 2.39" average 14% below normal

The Mato Grosso total is still better than October though--when rainfall was 65% below normal.

MG do SUL 1.51" average 37% below normal

MGDS was wet in September--so some drier trend is welcome.

PARANA 1.62" average 35% below normal. Parana is OK with a drier trend.

RIO GRANDE do SUL .26" average 88% below normal. RGDS was very wet in Sep & Oct, and is still for the period since Sept 1 running 28% above normal.

Argentina has also seen a drier trend. However, there is still plenty of wet ground following extremely heavy rain earlier this season. Rainfall shown is Nov 1-16.

CORDOBA .61" average 68% below normal

SANTA FE 1.57" average 23% below normal

ENTRE RIOS 1.50" average 17% below normal

LA PAMPA 1.49" average 4% above normal

BUENOS AIRES .85" average 40% below normal.
