Work Starts On Amazon Potash Mine
Canadian company Falcon Metais will finally begin work this month on a huge potash mine in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. The mine, thought to be the third largest in the world with deposits of around 1.2 billion tons of potash, is expected to have annual production of around 2 million tons within five to seven years. Yes, absolutely. Sugarcane millers are producing more sugar and less ethanol due to record sugar prices. The lower ethanol supply then puts upward pressure on prices.

As price goes up, external buyers consider double sources ... So the action internally in Brazil protects local consumption at lower cost ( not as much transportation loaded cost). It does not protect external buyers to buy some of their supply needs from the open market.
