From the Cattle Meeting in Denver
It's clear there is a growing division between the leaders of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and Cattlemen's Beef Board over what to do with the Federation of State Beef Councils. It's difficult to see federation members voting to breakaway from NCBA when state beef council executives and board members have a seat at NCBA's Executive Committee.[Read Full Blog Post]

Don't you think we could do all this without raising all of our taxes.

Is it possible that the answer is because oil, coal and other fossil fuel lobbies control the government? As long as it makes money it is great, we can't afford to give future generations anything but a wore out world, I am sure they will understand! At least they will inherit our flat screen TV's

As we on the East coast swelter in a record year of over 100 degree days I am glad to see Republicans being very proactive in changing our fossil fuel habits! As long as the "conservatives" can influence energy policy BP, Exxon, Mid East terrorists need not worry,,,, keep up the "good" work boyz,,, spill baby spill!!!!!

Its interesting that a democrat majority can't completely socialize America in less than 2 years. Just imagine how much global warming there is gonna be when the democrats are back in the minority in D.C.

The biggest dust offenders on our farm are the gravel roads which continually grind up dust and add it to the environment. Regulating those roads would be counterproductive and ridiculous. Just like the other proposed dust regulations for Ag.

As long as everyone has to abide by the same regulation adjustments will be made and quite possibly another profit center will be availed.

I'm so proud of my two senators from MN for not signing this letter to the EPA. We NEED higher taxes and more EPA regulation in MN and LESS dusty roads! NOTE:The preceeding comment is sarcazm.

Its always heartwarming when the government presents a theory as fact and then proceeds to try and implement policy inorder to shove it down the throat of Americans.
Posted by Paul Beiser at 8:40PM CDT 07/27/10
Yes Paul,,, just like the Scopes trial and the theory of evolution, how dare them! If we don't stay on oil how will BP CEO's keep their high pensions? How will corporate America make enough money to lobby congress and how will Mid East states fund terrorism?

Farmers and ranchers need to contact their congressmen and women and get them moving on this. We cannot allow the tax to go back up to 55%--family farms and ranches will be lost at this kind of tax rate. It's a terrible thing. We lost our family farm in a large part due the outrageous death tax rate in the seventies. Let's stop this from happening to anyone else.

In 2009, the basis would be updated to the day the person died, I heard this was lost in 2010 also. So if someone dies and owns ground from 1970 at $500 / acre, now it is worth 10 times that and the family has to pay the capital gains...
