October Off to Record-Cold Start
The month of October is off to one of the coldest starts on record, which could slow down harvest noticeably in central Nebraska, the Grand Island Independent reported Thursday. According to the National Weather Service office in Hastings, temperatures across south-central Nebraska for the first six days of the month have averaged eight to nine degrees below normal.
