I think it will be very interesting to see how USDA handles the yield forecast for the current 2010 corn crop. Their forecast up until now @ 163.5 bpa are already above LT trend yield yet the June 1 stocks strongly suggests they overestimated yield for the '09 crop. USDA may not make any change to the yield forecast in July report but it seems to me the benchmark they've set for '10 yields is already set pretty high.

i agree ken. we have to hit 160 first. too many problem areas in to many fields in the western cornbelt. wait a minute, i said that last year!could we see another 50 cents on corn? charts look a bit bullish to this untrained eye. i know, im asking for a freebie! dave wiebke

Yes, the market will have an answer. In Ontario, generally the crops look very good with some notable exceptions in Niagara region and the extreme south along the Lake Erie shore. However, its hot....real hot and the good stuff only has a few days left before it starts marching straight back from where it came from. So yes, its up to summer weather moving forward. Ontario is dry, but I observed corn coming into tassel this morning. That's about as early as I've seen it. The other time.....1988..and you know what happened then....We'll see.

Can Cash Corn Continue the Rally?

I'm looking forward to some big fireworks this week in the grain markets. The end users had better be buying.
