Cash Ethanol Market Mixed; Argo, NYH Gain on Stock Draw

Spot ethanol prices were shallowly mixed with an upside bias in early trade Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration said total ethanol inventories fell, despite higher domestic plant production while demand also eased for the week-ended Sept. 25. Also, ethanol traders said the negative impact of lower corn futures were offset by higher RBOB futures.

Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo supply hub near Chicago traded before EIA data at $1.56 per gallon followed by post-EIA data trades at $1.555 and $1.55 per gallon, up 2.0 cents for the session. A New York Harbor October delivered ethanol barge was at a $1.63 per gallon, up 1.5 cents, while this week transport in Arizona ethanol traded at $1.685 per gallon for a 0.25 cents loss.
