Spot ethanol prices were mixed in thin trade Friday as some traders headed out early for the three-day Labor Day holiday weekend. Cash ethanol prices in Chicago and New York areas nudged up 0.5 cents and 0.25 cents to $1.46 per gallon and $1.5775 per gallon, respectively, while prompt delivered ethanol prices in northern California eased 1.5 cents to $1.625 per gallon and Texas Gulf prices were unchanged at $1.54 per gallon.

The renewable credit market also eased, with D6 RINs for 2015 trading at 35.0 cents, down 0.5 cents. Other commodity markets mostly fell after the Labor Department issued a mixed payroll report for August showing the nation's jobs growth missing forecast.
