Spot ethanol prices edged higher Monday, supported by a rally for New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB futures on technical support and position squaring ahead of the expiration of the September RBOB contract.

Today transfer ethanol at the Argo terminal near Chicago was pegged at $1.45 gallon for a 0.5-cent gain, while this week transfer ethanol in northern California was talked at a $1.65 to $1.67 per gallon bid/ask, up 1.0 cent. Arizona spot ethanol prices were talked at a $1.64 to $1.65 per gallon bid/ask, up 0.5 cent.
