Spot Ethanol Prices Higher on Talk of Supply Shortage
Spot ethanol prices moved higher in afternoon trade Thursday after a slow start to cash trading, boosted by a supply shortage, especially along the West Coast, trade sources said.
Prompt Argo ethanol was pegged at $1.45 per gallon for a 1.0-cent gain, while an August ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was bid at $1.49 and offered at $1.52 per gallon for a 2.0-cents gain. Arizona prompt delivered ethanol traded was bid 3.0 cents higher at $1.65 per gallon.
