Spot ethanol prices at the Argo hub near Chicago and the New York Harbor were unchanged while West Coast and Gulf Coast prices edged higher on the back of an early afternoon surge by Chicago Board of Trade corn futures. The USDA lowered domestic corn production and corn stocks. The cash market seesawed earlier in the morning, reflecting the volatile trade in the broader market. Prompt Argo transfer ethanol traded at $1.61, $1.63 and $1.635 gallon, unchanged for the day. August Argo ethanol prices were pegged at $1.62 gallon. New York Harbor July delivered ethanol barges were pegged at $1.74 gallon, while ethanol to northern California was pegged at $1.86 gallon, advancing 1.0cts.
