Spot Ethanol Values Boosted by Corn Futures Rally
Spot ethanol prices had a rollercoaster ride, pressured early Tuesday ahead of a Department of Agriculture report before rebounding with corn futures after the report came out at midday showing a glut in corn supply may ease. Prompt ethanol at the Argo terminal near Chicago was talked at $1.56 gallon, off 1.0cts after trading early at $1.52, $1.53 and $1.5375 gallon. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for traded early at $1.54 to $1.58 gallon and was continuing to move up. A New York Harbor July ethanol barge was talked at $1.66 gallon, up 1.0cts, while northern California spot ethanol traded at $1.74 gallon for a gain of 1.0cts.
