Spot Ethanol Prices Soften on Rising Supply
Spot ethanol prices were flat to lower Thursday on continuing concern supply would overtake demand. This was exacerbated following Energy Information Administration data released Wednesday showing ethanol inventory increased 500,000 bbl or 2.3% to a six-week high of 20.7 million bbl in the week-ended June 12.
Prompt ethanol at the Argo terminal near Chicago was talked unchanged at a $1.45 to $1.47 per gallon bid/ask, while Nebraska spot prices traded early at $1.38 per gallon. Prompt ethanol in northern California traded down 2.0 cents at $1.60 per gallon, while Arizona spot prices traded early at $1.61 per gallon and then talked at a $1.59 to $1.61 per gallon bid/ask.
