Spot Ethanol Tracks Corn, Gasoline Down as Dollar Gains

U.S. spot ethanol prices eased in early trade Tuesday under pressure from a stronger dollar and losses for corn and gasoline futures. Trade volume was thin as markets returned to action after the three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo terminal was talked at a $1.555 to $1.57 per gallon bid/ask, down 1.75 cents, with Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 talked in a $1.56 to $1.59 per gallon bid/ask, down 2.5 cents. New York Harbor May delivered ethanol barges was talked at $1.64 per gallon, down 1.5 cents. Ethanol for this week transfer in northern California traded at $1.75 per gallon, down 1.0 cents.
