Spot ethanol prices moved lower in Chicago, New York and the Texas Gulf Coast markets while most of the West Coast market gained on talk of a short squeeze in California.

Fuel ethanol for this week shipment in northern California traded at $1.765 and $1.78 per gallon, up 4.0 cents on the day. For Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 traded unchanged at $1.62 per gallon, and prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo hub traded at $1.60 per gallon, down 1.0 cent on the day.
