Spot Ethanol Prices Mixed Ahead of Weekly Supply Data
Spot ethanol prices were mixed Tuesday with the value of product in New York unchanged while a tad higher in Chicago and Houston and edging lower along the West Coast. The ethanol market in early trade was sandwiched between lower corn futures and a rally for gasoline futures. Traders now await ethanol supply data from the Energy Information Administration due out Wednesday. Prompt transfer ethanol at Argo near Chicago was talked at a $1.61 to $1.63 gallon bid/ask, up 0.5 cent. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 traded at $1.66 gallon for a daily gain of 3.0 cents. New York Harbor May delivered ethanol barges traded flat at $1.705 gallon while June barges changed hands at $1.695, up 1.0 cent.
