Spot Ethanol Prices Higher on Bullish Supply Data
Spot ethanol prices posted gains during a busy trade session Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration said domestic fuel ethanol production declined 9,000 bpd last week to a 6-1/2 month low of 921,000 bpd while total inventories were drawn down 545,000 bbl from a seven-week high to 20.797 bbl. April transfer ethanol at Argo was valued at $1.64 gallon, up 1.0cts, while Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 traded up 3.5cts at $1.655 gallon for this week shipping. New York Harbor May delivered ethanol barges traded at $1.745 gallon, up 1.5cts, while this week transfer ethanol in California traded early at $1.82 gallon before the data was issued, and then talked at a $1.83 to $1.87 gallon bid/ask spread, up 2.0cts.
