Spot Ethanol Advances After Bullish Weekly Supply Report

Spot ethanol prices rallied Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration released data that showed a pickup in fuel demand while domestic production fell 1.3% to a near six-month low of 924,000 barrels per day (bpd) last week. The data showed blender inputs, a gauge for ethanol demand, up 18,000 bpd -- or 2.0% -- to 885,000 bpd for the week-ended April 10, while up 4.7% year over year. April transfer ethanol at the Argo traded at $1.565, $1.57 and $1.575 gallon, while Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment to key coastal markets changed hands at $1.58 gallon for a gain of 4.0 cents. Arizona ethanol traded at $1.71 and talked at a $1.72 to $1.76 gallon bid/ask, up 5.0 cents on the session.
