February was a successful month with recording-setting export sales of U.S. ethanol and dried distillers grains with solubles, according to Ann Lewis, who blogs for the Renewable Fuels Association (http://bit.ly/…).

U.S. exports of denatured and undenatured ethanol reached the highest February volume on record in February 2015, reaching 85.2 million gallons, an increase of 24% from February 2014. This breaks the previous record set in February 2012 of 76.3 mg.

U.S. DDGS exports also set a record in February, rising to the highest monthly level in five months of 803,203 metric tons.

Lewis partially attributes this increase to China's continuing market recovery, even though exports to China still remain at about half the level they were before all the trade disruptions occurred over biotech traits. January/February exports of DDGS to China totaled about 816,000 mt in 2014, compared to the January/February 2015 total of 442,000 mt.

The top DDGS importing countries for February 2015 were China (272,220 mt), Mexico (222,182 mt), Vietnam (48,043 mt), Canada (43,859 mt), Japan (38,621 mt) and Thailand (35,587 mt).
