Spot Ethanol Prices Moved Mixed After USDA Report

Spot ethanol prices moved mixed across the country in early trade Tuesday after the USDA released its Grain Stocks and Prospective Plantings report that showed a year-over-year rise for corn stocks and lower planted acreage for corn.

Spot ethanol prices in California and Arizona tumbled 4.0 cents each to $1.66 per gallon soon after the report was published. Meanwhile, bids for prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo and New York Harbor hubs, as well as paper contracts, remained strong, said trade sources.

Trades for prompt delivered supply at Argo and Rule 11 deliveries were each done at $1.52 per gallon before and after publication of the report, up 1.0 cent and 1.5 cents, respectively.
