Spot Ethanol Prices Mostly Higher on Supply/Demand Data
Spot ethanol prices rose in Chicago and at the New York Harbor on Wednesday after the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported ethanol stocks fell to a six-week low of 20.8 million bbl last week as blending demand surged 2.7% to 863,000 bpd.
The stock draws occurred in the East Coast and Midwest regions. Prompt Argo ethanol was talked 1.5 cents higher at a $1.39 to $1.41 per gallon bid/ask while Chicago Rule 11 ethanol changed hands at $1.43 and $1.44 per gallon. New York Harbor March barges gained 1.5 cents in discussion, talked in a $1.49 to $1.52 per gallon bid/ask spread. April Harbor barges were talked at a $1.52 to $1.56 per gallon bid/ask for a 3.0-cents gain.
