Spot Ethanol Prices Retreat on Oversupply Ahead of Weekend

Spot ethanol prices were falling Friday alongside retreating CBOT corn and NYMEX RBOB futures ahead of the weekend.

Corn and gasoline have come under pressure this week on concerns about weak demand and excess supply. A stronger dollar added to the downside for commodities including ethanol prices.

Prompt Argo ethanol was talked 2.0 cents lower at a $1.425 to $1.445 per gallon bid/ask. New York Harbor March ethanol barges were talked 2.5 cents lower at $1.525 to $1.535 per gallon bid/ask. Also, prompt California ethanol were also penciled 4.0 cents lower at a $1.68 to $1.70 per gallon bid/ask.
