Spot Ethanol Prices Decline as EIA Reports Stock Increase

Spot ethanol prices traded lower in New York Harbor and other regional trade hubs Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration released data that showed U.S. ethanol inventories climbed 244,000 bbl to a 20.631 million bbl two-year high, with most of the stock build recorded along the East Coast.

The build eased worries of tightness at the Harbor, where prompt barges traded early at $1.525 and $1.52 per gallon, and were last talked in a $1.50 to $1.52 per gallon bid/ask for a 2.0-cents loss on the day.

Prompt delivered ethanol at Argo was talked at a $1.36 to $1.40 per gallon bid/ask, down 3.5 cents on the day.
